Such a surprise! I was referred this album by a friend and I was taken back by the complexity of the compositions. Between Hope and Reality is not only a track name, but also a description of the tones on the album. This balance really supports the juxtaposition of cleanliness and harshness of the compositions. adam_g

LUNAR SPELLS play a 90's influenced style of melodic black metal. I always appreciate this wild melodic approach which is still rooted in the underground and not overproduced. The demonic vocals are harsh, distorted and echoing, the guitars cut the soul with sharp riffs, the drums rumble like an orc horde most of the time and the synthetic organs add some atmosphere. Sometimes mid-tempo passages bring a bit variation in the fast paced performance. Somehow simple, but effective and classic! H.L.
